Accommodation in a Russian host family

During your course, you will be staying with a Russian host family who will share their daily life and lifestyle with you. Fully immersed in the Russian language and culture, it will be a great opportunity for you to daily practice your Russian outside our centre, while learning about Russian customs and traditions from the inside.

To be sure that this immersion experience will be as productive and successful as possible, we will ask you at registration to indicate us your preferences and wishes so that we can find the host family that will be the most suitable for your stay and expectations. We have different types of host families: families with one or many children, young couples, retired people, single persons, families speaking foreign languages or not, with pets or not, etc. all selected by our centre according to the following criteria:

Hospitality and generosity

In Siberia you will experience hospitality and generosity of Russian people more than anywhere else. All our host families have been selected for accommodation quality and commitment. They are always happy to share their culture and way of life with our participants.

Communication

We always select host families who like to communicate and who will help you to daily practice your Russian. Our families know that you are in Russia to improve your Russian and that it is therefore important for you to communicate in Russian, whatever your level is.

Easy access to city centre

We try to host our participants the closest as possible from the city centre: most of our host families are located less than 20 minutes transport (walk/metro/bus) from our centre, the farthest being located at 30-40 minutes but with always an easy access to city centre.

A clean accommodation

You will be provided with a clean single room with a bed or sofa-bed (most of Russian beds are sofa-beds), a desk/table and a wardrobe. The kitchen, bathroom and toilets are shared with the family. Most of our families have internet access at home (if this point is important to you, thank you for mentioning it at registration) .

Homestay accommodation includes:

  • An apartment key given upon arrival.
  • A phone number where you can be reached in your family from abroad.
  • Breakfast and evening meal from Monday to Friday.
  • Sheets and bath towels which will be changed regularly during your stay. You will also have access to the family's washing machine for your laundry.
  • For long term programs, the opportunity to change host family during your stay (every 4 weeks) to discover different families and living styles.
